What is 3D drilling?
The CNC three-dimensional drilling machine consists of a main unit (three-dimensional drilling bed), a hydraulic system, a material conveying channel, and an electrical control system. It is primarily used for secondary processing of steel structures and for drilling holes in three-sided H-shaped steel sections. The CNC three-dimensional drilling machines include models such as CNC three-dimensional drills, high-speed three-dimensional drills, H-shaped steel three-dimensional drills, and three-dimensional parking garage drills.

CNC 3D drilling It consists of a main machine (three-dimensional drilling machine), a hydraulic system, a material conveying channel, and an electrical control system. It is primarily used for secondary processing of steel structures and for drilling holes in three-sided H-shaped steel sections. CNC three-dimensional drilling machines include models such as CNC three-dimensional drills, high-speed three-dimensional drills, H-shaped steel three-dimensional drills, and three-dimensional parking garage drills. They are mainly employed in the steel structure industry for applications such as construction, bridge engineering, power plant boilers, multi-level parking garages, offshore oil rig platforms, and tower masts. They are particularly well suited for processing I-beams and channel sections in steel structures—this serves as an excellent example.
The CNC 3D drilling machine consists of a main unit, a hydraulic system, a material conveying channel, and an electrical control system.
1. CNC 3D drilling The bed is equipped with three power heads, enabling hole machining on three surfaces as the workpiece passes through.
2. Three power heads can drill simultaneously, utilizing automatically indexed drilling power heads.
3. No need to set workpiece thickness or drilling depth; the machine automatically switches between rapid traverse and feed, resulting in high machining efficiency.
4. CNC + PLC control, host computer monitoring, and Windows-based programming software for quick and convenient programming with intuitive graphical preview.
5. Employ an atomization cooling system to extend the drill bit’s service life.
6. Each power head is equipped with a spindle reduction motor manufactured by a well-known company.
7. Key hydraulic and electrical components are sourced from well-known domestic and international manufacturers.
The KR-SKZ-1050 CNC 3D drilling machine is specifically designed and manufactured to meet the processing requirements of the steel structure industry. It is a production unit that integrates drilling, lettering, scribing, and other machining processes, making it ideal for large-section economical drilling and related technologies.
When a CNC three-dimensional drilling machine is used for processing square steel sections, the maximum fillet radius is 15 mm. As long as the section’s stiffness and stability meet the structural steel section standards specified in the DIN specifications, it can also drill special wide-flange beams and welded I-beams. Three-dimensional drilling machines are primarily used for drilling and marking H-shaped steel and channel sections, and are widely employed in industries such as construction, bridge engineering, tower structures, masts, and lattice structures. With their high precision and user-friendly operation, these machines are indispensable equipment in the structural steel manufacturing industry.
Control 3D drilling Bed workflow:
1. The operator uses the drive mechanism to place raw materials on the equipment’s horizontal material tray, which can accommodate three to five pieces at a time, and then transfers them via the tray’s drive chain to the feed rail of the CNC 3D drilling machine.
2. Operate the pusher button on the feed channel to advance the workpiece toward the side locating datum, bringing the workpiece into close proximity to the side locating datum.
3. By adjusting the height and position of the NC carriage’s clamping jaws, the workpiece is automatically fed forward by the carriage after clamping.
The carriage is used to feed workpieces into the main body of the CNC 3D drilling machine and automatically position the drilling locations according to the program instructions. The CNC 3D drilling machine clamps the workpiece using side pressure and upward pressure, then initiates automatic drilling. Upon completion of drilling, the CNC carriage returns the 3D drilling machine’s main unit. After the fixture is released, the electric roller on the discharge side of the 3D CNC drilling machine automatically lifts the workpiece and conveys it to the discharge chute. Simultaneously, the clamping arm of the NC carriage automatically retracts and returns to the carriage’s preset home position, ready to process the next workpiece.
