Master Tool for Compressor Scroll Plate Machining – PCD Precision Milling Cutter
The core working components of a compressor are the stationary and moving scroll discs. During operation, a scroll compressor achieves air compression primarily through the cyclic rotation of the moving disc and its interaction with the stationary disc. To ensure efficient and stable performance of these components, stringent requirements are imposed on the surface finish, perpendicularity, and profile geometry of the scroll’s inner and outer walls, which in turn place extremely high demands on the cutting tools used for machining such parts.

The scroll air compressor is a type of positive-displacement compressor whose main components consist of a moving scroll and a stationary scroll. It boasts high volumetric efficiency in compressing air and was first widely adopted in refrigeration equipment, including automotive air conditioning, aircraft air conditioning, boosters, and large cabinet-type air conditioners. Its operating principle involves converting energy to deliver air at standard atmospheric pressure, thereby meeting user requirements.

Scroll compressor
The core working components of a compressor are the stationary and orbiting scroll discs. During operation, a scroll compressor achieves air compression primarily through the cyclic rotation of the orbiting disc and its interaction with the stationary disc. To ensure efficient and stable performance of these components, stringent requirements are imposed on the surface finish, perpendicularity, and profile geometry of the scroll’s inner and outer walls as well as its scroll grooves, which in turn place extremely high demands on the cutting tools used for machining such parts.
Currently, the performance of commonly used finish-milling cutters for scroll plates on the market fails to meet requirements—for example, high prices impose significant cost pressures on customers, and delivery lead times are excessively long. In addition, the wide variety of scroll-plate sizes and models, coupled with inconsistent die-casting allowances in the blanks, further challenges tool design and application. To address these industry needs, extend the service life of finish-machining tools, and reduce machining costs, ArrowStone has established a dedicated R&D team to collaborate with customers in optimizing and upgrading existing cutting tools. As a result, ArrowStone has launched a specialized brazed PCD finish-milling cutter that effectively meets customers’ demands for improved efficiency and reduced costs, earning widespread customer approval.
