Trial Cutting Results Test 1: Tool Life – Number of Holes 203 workpieces × 10 12 workpieces * 10
Invalid state Wear, but not stop gauge Front end chipping with 5 teeth; single-edge insert (see Failure Figure 1).
Test 2: Tool Life – Number of Holes 113 workpieces × 10 120 workpieces * 10 Failure Diagram 3
Invalid state Front end chipping with three cutting edges and two edge bands (see Failure Figure 2). Back-end chipping of 1 tooth (see Failure Figure 3).
Conclusions and Recommendations Conclusion The processing life of Arrowstone’s straight-flute powder metallurgy taps is approximately 30% longer than that of currently used products.
Suggestion The anterior angle of the cusp can be slightly modified by adding a small amount of chamfering.
